With the gorgeous weather forecast for Easter weekend my husband and I decided to go out Friday to Black Hole Falls. (The lovely ladies in the photo with us are my mother and two of her friends.)
Black Hole Falls is gorgeous and well worth the effort. Down a hill, across a beach- the hardest part is the very end where you have to clamber over rocks and fallen trees to reach the base.
I spent most of my time climbing…
…however I did find a beautiful Trichopteran on a rock at the base of the waterfall. Didn’t get a great picture, but with some editing:

I think this is a Capniidae.
The water was too cold to explore much, but if I go again I will be sure to look under some rocks!
As a side note, the view from the top is pretty great too!
